Aspen is one of the first places that people think of when they hear the word ‘Snow’.

It became famous in the 1940s, when rich and famous people started going there to meet each other. Today, it’s even more popular, with lots of designer stores in the city. A true paradise for shopping, luxury hotels, food, museums, art galleries, parties and meeting other people. All this is in buildings that have special architecture and were designed by the world’s most famous designers.

The place for Skiing and Snowboarding.

Aspen is a privileged region with some of the best snow sports facilities in the world. There are 500 km of slopes spread over four mountains close together. Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass. The feeling of staying in any of the four ski resorts and being able to visit the other luxurious ski resorts is unparalleled.

The glamorous towns are just 14 km apart. You can reach them easily and free of charge by bus or van.

Snowmass

Of the other three mountains, Snowmass is the one that has the most to offer, with lots of activities for families. For example, children can have fun at the Tree House Kids Adventure Center, which is a complete leisure center with movies, games and lots of activities.

The resort also has excellent instructors for snow sports and famous ski schools that specialise in teaching children.

ARC – Aspen Recreation Center

It is a leisure centre with lots of activities for children and teenagers, such as an ice-skating rink and a heated swimming pool. Look at the opening hours for each structure. The changing rooms have showers, but you will need to bring your own clothes and towel. The local buses pass right by, so enjoy the ride.

The Hideout

Hideout is a fun place for kids aged 2 to 6. It is on Buttermilk Mountain. It combines a variety of fun activities in the snow with ski lessons designed to keep the little ones entertained.

ElkCamp (UllrNights)

ElkCamp is one of the most popular places to eat at the top of Snowmass Mountain. To keep parents and children happy, they put on a fun event every Friday night (but only when it’s snowing).

The “UllrNights” are from 5 to 9 p.m. and are full of lively music, snow games (tubing and snowbiking), fun activities, bonfires and lots of sweets and hot chocolate.

Cinema (Metropolitan Isis Theater)

If you want to relax with your family, you could take the kids to the Metropolitan Isis Theatre. This is a beautiful outdoor cinema in the centre of Aspen.

Breathtaker Alpine Coaster

The AlpineCoaster is a roller coaster that goes really fast and has exciting curves that will make anyone feel excited. At UllrNights, you can use the ride at night, which makes it even more fun.

Terrain Parks

There are lots of fun activities for teenagers and snowboarders in the different Terrain Parks around the Aspen Snowmass mountains.

Terrain parks are track structures, obstacles, slopes and half-pipes that are specially prepared for people who enjoy acrobatic snow sports, like snowboarding. Snowmass Park is one of them, with a Superpipe that is almost 7 meters high.

During the ski season, you can also visit the Ice Bar, a facility made almost entirely of ice and with an incredible view. Make sure you try the different types of vodka they serve there.
